    And when it comes to designers, Allure Couture holds a special place in her heart. Their recent trunk show was absolutely stunning. Every gown was a showstopper.

    What really lights her up, though, is the moment a bride says “yes”. Sophia admits that she isn’t really a crier, but the moment a bride says yes is a tear jerker. It is such a huge decision, and you can really feel how special it is. Sophia says, “There’s never a dull moment. Every bride is different, and guiding her (and her team!) to a gown is the most rewarding job, especially when it is a pick she wouldn’t have considered to begin with.

    Your wedding day is a magical celebration of love, but when temperatures soar, staying cool becomes just as important as looking stunning. Whether you’re exchanging vows under the summer sun or celebrating in a warm indoor venue, these tips will help you stay cool.

    1.Stay hydrated

    A wedding can be a long affair, and with the excitement, it’s easy to forget to drink water. Keep a hydration station nearby with chilled bottles or infused water, ensuring you sip regularly. If champagne and cocktails are part of the celebration, balance them with water to stay refreshed without feeling drained. Encourage your bridal party and guests to stay hydrated too- it’s a simple way to maintain energy throughout the event.

    2.Setting spray

    The last thing you want is your flawless bridal look melting under the heat. Use a mattifying primer and waterproof products to ensure your makeup lasts all day. A good setting spray can lock everything in place, preventing smudges from sweat or humidity. For touch-ups, keep blotting papers handy to absorb excess oil without layering too much powder.  Always speak to your MUA for more tips!

     3.Plan for shade 

    Whether your wedding is outdoors or indoors, having designated cooling spots is crucial. Arrange shaded areas with umbrellas or marquees for outdoor ceremonies and keep fans or mist sprays on hand. If possible, schedule moments where you can step into an air-conditioned space, giving you time to refresh and reset before more photos and dances.

    4.Opt for an Updo

    Hair can add to the warmth, especially if styled down. Consider an elegant updo that keeps hair off your neck and shoulders, giving you better comfort while maintaining a polished bridal look. Styles like braided buns or soft chignons keep things timeless and breathable. If wearing your hair down is a must, use anti-humidity hair products to reduce frizz and maintain structure.

Shapewear can dramatically alter how a dress fits and feels, so it’s worth testing it out ahead of time.

    Built-In Support Means Less Worry

Many of our gowns are designed to hold and shape you beautifully-so you won’t necessarily need to wear a full bra. Combine that with the 6–9 month wait time for delivery, and there’s a good chance your body may shift before the big day.

    Timing is everything when shopping for your gown if you want a brand new dress ordered!   

    Here’s a realistic timeline to follow:  

    ✨ You might want to be super organised like some of our brides and shop 24-30 months in advance- this gives you longer to plan, organise & budget well for your wedding.

    ✨ You might want to shop 12 – 18 months in advance- the majority of our brides do this as it still gives us plenty of time for your wedding dress to arrive and for all your fittings to be done.

    ✨ You might only have 6 – 12 months because you got a great deal on a shorter lead time with your venue. This is no problem for us at all. We will still have plenty of time to have your dress made & delivered to us plus we have the added benefit of 4 onsite seamstresses so you’re guaranteed to have your dress fitted perfectly in time for your special day.

    ✨ you might have 1 – 6 months, don’t worry! We can help you! Lots of our Designers hold stock and we are able to “live pick” that stock so that you can have the dress you want in the size that you need. Again, our amazing onsite Seamstresses will get you Aisle ready in no time!

    At TDR, we provide in-house seamstress services for expert tailoring, ensuring a flawless finish while keeping everything conveniently close to the boutique.  The alterations team are located just in the building adjacent to TDR. Alterations happen on usually 6-8 weeks before your wedding.
