Custard Factory Photo Shoot with Pollen Floral Joy

We were so excited to be working with such a FABULOUS team for our photoshoot at the custard factory.

  • Most Frequently Asked Questions at TDR Bridal

Most Frequently Asked Questions at TDR Bridal

Do you do walk ins or is it appointment only?

If there is a fitting room free, then yes, definitely during the week! You are always welcome, we love being able to help all of our brides. Weekends however are so busy, we get booked up so quickly and as we would NEVER want to turn you away and will always get you into our beautiful gowns if we have time, we do recommend you always BOOK AN APPOINTMENT. You can do this through our website, through social media, on email or just give us a call! We are ALWAYS available!!!!!

    What sizes do you carry?

We have almost 400 wedding gowns in store and the sizes range from a size 8 to size 30.

What if I plan to lose weight?

Completely fine!!! Most brides are, so do not stress. Depending on designer delivery dates and how close your wedding is, you can always defer from measuring. This means you have those few extra months to be nearer to the size you will be a couple of weeks before your wedding. However, once you are measured and the dress is ordered in the size nearest to you, this does not mean you have to stop losing weight! Your fittings with the seamstress will not be until 6 weeks before your wedding and a dress can be taken in up to 3 dress sizes without causing a problem, and trust us, our seamstress is AMAZING!!! So, do not stress, you are in safe hands and rest assured your wedding dress will fit you perfectly on your wedding day.

When is the best time to start looking for my bridal gown?

It is never too early to start looking for your bridal gown, usually the first thing you organise for your wedding are your venue and wedding gown! The rest should fall into place after these two are ticked off your list (ish). A wedding gown will take 6 – 9 months to come into store depending on designer delivery dates. But you also must include time for deferring measurements and alterations after your dress arrives in store. So, to avoid any extra added stress to your wedding planning, if you allow from 8 – 12 months before your wedding, you will be fine.

We also would recommend that when you start looking for your wedding gown, always be prepared to buy within 3 – 4 weeks. This is purely to avoid disappointment, designers will give bridal boutiques 3 – 4 weeks’ notice if a dress is to be discontinued, so if you find a gown that you love and return to store in 4 months’ time, the dress may not still be there. So,

How long does it take for a dress to be ordered?

Delivery dates vary between designers, but it will usually take 6 – 9 months for your dress to arrive in store.

Who do I bring with me?

You are welcome to bring whoever you like with you, but we recommend maximum 3 – 4 people but usually 2 – 3, being your nearest and dearest. We also recommend that the people you bring with you are people whose opinion you value deeply as otherwise it can become extremely confusing and distressing for you and can in turn, affect the decision you make.

    What happens after ordering?

Once your dress has been ordered and you have been measured, you leave the rest to us. Your dress will arrive in store within 6 – 9 months (sometimes earlier, sometimes later) and we will call you within half an hour of your dress arriving in store. After this call, you must book an appointment to come into store within 2 weeks to try the gown on and check it all over, after this you need to book your fittings. Your first fitting will be 6 weeks before your wedding and our seamstress usually works on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday but will fit you in wherever suits you, we are very flexible! You will then have your first fitting and the seamstress will advise you as to when your second fit will be which is usually 2 weeks before your wedding.

What do I bring to my fittings?

For your fitting with the seamstress, which is usually 6 weeks before the wedding, you will need the shoes you will be wearing on the day and a bra (if you need one). The seamstress will usually either sew bra cups into your wedding gown or if you prefer, you can bring one of your own bra’s that you feel comfortable in and she will cut this up and sew this into your wedding gown instead.

    Do you have parking?

Yes, we have parking at the front and the back of the shop.

What else to I need to know?

All you need to know is that we are very VERY normal. We are open 7 days a week and 3 late nights as we know you need to save your holiday hours for your honeymoon and other wedding plans. We are child friendly, we welcome children in the boutique by providing a toy box in each changing area. We have been retailing now for 11 years and we have NEVER let a bride down, we have won numerous awards, including customer service awards, showing that our brides are our world and they ALWAYS come first!!!!

We look forward to meeting you very soon, Book Now to become a TDR Bride !!!

    Lots of Love

As many of you may already know, once you are a TDR Bride, you join our family! We have our private Facebook group for TDR BRIDES ONLY, we chat every single day, we laugh, we cry and most importantly we support each other along every single step of the way and it is just beautiful!

    Christina’s Proposal Story…

It was Sunday September 11th 2016 and we was in Church Stretton having some lunch. Owen hardly ate anything but I thought it was because he was bit hung over from the night before! He then said we’re going for a walk to Carding Mill Valley and I remember moaning because I didn’t have the right footwear on as it was bit muddy along the hills and stream. Luckily he had my wellington boots ready in the car!

I know why now! It felt like a long walk to the top where he said there was a little waterfall and I had to keep stopping as I was getting tired 😂 we got to the top and I was taking photos and he turned to me next to the waterfall, grabbed both my hands and I just knew. I knew he was going to ask me and I cried so much! He said lovely words to me and then got on one knee and said my full name whilst asking me to marry him ❤️😍

Thank you SO much to each and every one of our brides for sharing your beautiful stories with us. We have absolutely loved reading them and we are SO excited to continue with you on this magical journey from Miss to Mrs 💓💓💓

If you’re a TDR Bride and would love to have your proposal story also shared on our blog, then please email us here…we would LOVE to hear from you!

    Katie’s Proposal Story…

My partner bought me a trip to Prague for my birthday in September 2016. We were waiting on completion of our new home which got put back to the 16th December and we flew to Prague the next day, so we were both a bit apprehensive that we could do it all in one weekend and before Christmas came. We headed off on the 17th.

The city was amazing, definitely recommend it to anyone especially at Christmas time. It was just magical.
On the Saturday night we were doing a bit of exploring and I saw a beautiful jewellery shop … of course as ladies do…I was automatically drawn to it with boyfriend in hand. I made a comment pointing to a ring that I hope one day I’ll get one of those, we had been together for seven years. He reassured me that he would but not just yet as we’d only just moved in and there was a lot of money to pay out etc.

So on the Sunday off we went on a walking tour of Prague with a guide and a small group of other people of different nationalities. The day turned out to be a bit dreary but the tour was brilliant. We headed up to Prague castle and the tour guide explained that there were some security checks first before we could go inside. So we got in the very long queue for only then my partner to decide he wanted a picture infront of the gates. I told him we could get one after because we’ll lose our place in the queue but no he was very insistent. So after being the stubborn person that I am I gave in and walked up to the castle gates. I turned round and the next minute he’s on one knee with this stunning ring in his hand. I didn’t listen to a word he said because I was so overwhelmed and all I could hear were people clapping and cheering. We then had to rejoin the tour for another 10 minutes which obviously went over my head.

The funny thing was this wasn’t his plan at all ..He set it up with my Dad to do it at a particular time so my Dad was at home with my Mum because she was unaware of everything but because of the security checks he didn’t daren’t risk it in case I saw the ring he’d been hiding all day in his pocket of the jacket.

How I didn’t click in that he kept moving me to his right side all day and wouldn’t fasten his coat up because it wasn’t stylish yet it was blooming freezing but really it was because you’d see the outline of a box if he did!
I was over the moon. Fortunately two American tourists took a picture off us too so we’ve got the actual moment captured.

    Amy’s Proposal Story…

We had just celebrated our year anniversary in Blackpool…for the weekend… nothing no ring…one week later was my partners dads anniversary so after work we went to the grave to lay some flowers but Dave was faffing in the car…one minute he says there’s people coming 🙄 hurry up Dave… so we got out and lay the flowers and the rubbish was blowing away he said pick that up…I said no…you do it. I then turned around and there he was on one knee…will you marry me? My instant reply was get up! 😂 so he asked me again will you marry me…I said yes of course I will
But please get up!

At the time I was about 12 weeks pregnant suffering from hyperemesis so he popped the ring on my finger to me gagging not trying to be sick! But I wouldn’t of wanted to do anything different he asked my dads permission and he wanted his dad to be there too!! 5 years later we have two beautiful boys! And will be getting married in August! I know our wedding day will be wonderful but sad that his dad won’t be there but I’ll know he would be there in spirit
