Comfort is key. Choose something you’re happy to stand and move around in. If you’re considering control underwear for your wedding day, it’s a great idea to bring it with you to your appointment. Shapewear can dramatically alter how a dress fits and feels, so it’s worth testing it out ahead of time.

Built-In Support Means Less Worry

The good news? At TDR Bridal, we carefully select dresses that feature built-in structure and support. Many of our gowns are designed to hold and shape you beautifully-so you won’t necessarily need to wear a full bra. This thoughtful construction means you can focus on feeling your most confident self, without the added pressure of finding perfect undergarments. A lot of bridal gowns have low backs, sheer detailing and designs that would show your bra strap. If you feel as though you wouldn’t feel comfortable without, its always best to speak to your stylist and they will be able to advise.

Even with the right underwear, nothing makes a gown feel more ‘you’ than expert alterations. Most wedding dresses are ordered in a standard size, not made to your exact measurements. Combine that with the 6–9 month wait time for delivery, and there’s a good chance your body may shift before the big day.

Whether it’s one inch or four at the waist, the cost stays the same- it’s all part of making sure your dress fits like a glove and moves with you naturally. Checked baggage? No way! The safest way to travel with your dress is keeping it with you as carry-on luggage.

The Costume Institute’s exhibition supported this narrative with a curated collection of garments, accessories, and artwork that traced the evolution of Black fashion from the 1700s to today.

On the red carpet, stars like Rihanna, Zendaya, and Bad Bunny embraced the theme in striking, custom-tailored looks. The evening was both a fashion spectacle and a powerful homage to the legacy and cultural depth of Black style, bringing its elegance and influence into the global spotlight.
